• "Sporysz" is a story about death and madness, humans and nature, and the transformation of seasons. It's a kaleidoscope of thoughts and words, and memories based on deep and serious life experiences. Musically, it's a journey from black metal through traditional acoustic sounds, and reaching out to alternative and prog rock. On the one hand the material is experimental and unconventional, while on the other, it is full of melancholy with Jarun's "folk" atmosphere which they have been creating for the past decade. "Sporysz" tracklist: 1. Sporysz 2. Powidoki 3. Jesien Wiecznosci 4. Wichry 5. Sny jak ziemia, sny jak rzeka 6. Malowany ogien Artwork by Damian "Radogost" Szpilyk Jarun are: Mateusz Kujawa - vocals Marcin "Pazuzu" Pazera - drums Dawid Wierzbicki - bass Krzysztof "Gambit" Stanisz - guitars Jakub "Zagreus" Olchawa - guitars
  • Following the well-received EP "Hail Death", black/heavy metal act UR will be releasing their debut full-length album, "Black Vortex" via Arachnophobia Records on 22 December 2017. The cover artwork was done by Krzysztof Sikorski. "Black Vortex" is a natural evolution of the band's previous work. The band's mastermind, Gregor, comments that he treats "both releases as one whole, musically and lyrically. Some of the tracks are philosophical in nature. They are filled with sadness and pity over human existence. Other tracks, however, are something you'd expect from UR: aggressive, primitive anthems of hatred about human greed, materialism and stupidity. Let the Black Vortex swallow you!" UR consist of seasoned musicians from Poland who have contributed to acts such as Bloodthirst or Bloodstained. Their first EP "Hail Death" was warmly received by the metal media and fans alike, with MetalTalk.net calling it "a superb debut offering", while No Clean Singing claimed the EP has "a visceral, primal appeal". A year later, with winter on the horizon, the beast will once again roar its primal sounds. "Black Vortex" Tracklist: 1. Black Vortex 2. Black Spark 3. We Are Mortal 4. Shed My Skin 5. The Beckoning Silence 6. The Last Feast 7. Cleansing by Fire 8. The Goddess of the World 9. Oblivion
  • Vanitas sees In Twilight's Embrace evolve into their own entity; taking a deathly and personal direction. Vanitas is the band's darkest material to date, both lyrically and musically. “Having confronted several deaths of family members and friends, made me realise the true weight of mortality,” confesses vocalist, Cyprian Łakomy. “The realisation paved the way for reflections which would later become the backbone of the lyrics and atmosphere on Vanitas”. This is not just another gimmick to create a death worshipping album. There's far more to it. Cyprian adds: “death is an opportunity to ask questions about the here and now, and what kind of legacy - if any at all - we are possibly leaving”. „Vanitas”, a 33 minutes-long portion of black death metal was recorded, mixed and mastered in 2017 by Marcin Rybicki at Vintage Records and Left Hand Sounds. Vanitas track list: 1. The Hell of Mediocrity 2. Fan the Flame 3. As Future Evaporates 4. Trembling 5. Flesh Falls, No Ghost Lifts 6. Futility 7. The Rift 8. The Great Leveller

  • Death is always the end, though it may also be the beginning. This is exactly happening in the case of “Hail Death”, the debut MCD from UR, about to be unleashed in December on Arachnophobia Records. The first strikes of winter frost create a perfect aura for the first MCD of UR. Clocking in at nearly 20 minutes, the record thrusts the listener straight into death's cold embrace – a power equally primal, complex and intriguing. This contrast also defines the musical content of “Hail Death”. The songs which have found their way onto the release are a manifestation of raw and instinct-driven black metal which does not refrain from occasional twists. - In fact, UR is exactly what all of us have been willing to do for a major part of our nearly 15-year-long musical quest, yet for some reason had been unable to put into effect. UR is a beast, an animal – free, untamed and unpredictable. When we meet at the rehearsals, we grab our instruments, fill the glasses with vodka and just play. We do not need any philosophy for something this simple. Neither do we obey any particular stylistic framework, nor limit ourselves to it. The music on “Hail Death” came up quickly and naturally; it is minimalistic, yet thoroughly prepared; full of contrast, yet cohesive – explains guitarist/vocalist Gregor, UR's mainman. So far, the group's members have made contributions to such names as Bloodthirst and Bloodstained inter alia. The debut release of UR, however, is the beginning of an entirely new chapter in their careers, as well as their first, so individual outing. The material was recorded and mixed at Left Hand Sounds studio. The cover art was painted by Krzysztof Sikorski. Here is the track listing for “Hail Death”: 1. A Dying Star 2. The Tongue of Fire 3. Let The Darkness Come 4. Total Inertia 5. Only Bones
  • After two EP releases, and a debut album that wiped the boundaries of the black metal genre and brought the band to a firm and clear position at the crossroads of avant-garde, psychedelia, primitive trance-inducing black metal, and a modern approach devoid of limitations, Pogavranjen, Croatia’s by far most prominent black metal band, release their second titanic escapade. On Sebi Jesi Meni Nisi, the trademark sound of the band evolved into something truly terrifying. Veterans of Croatian extreme music use primordial negativity and blackness of bleak modern existence to painfully stomp a 42 minute long march through wastelands of rancid psyche fueled by complete lack of hope. Through disgust and bewildering bestiality, Pogavranjen present the dawn of a new era of originality by painting the blackest of landscapes. While being endlessly negative, ugly and malevolent, Sebi Jesi Meni Nisi strikes with its progressive and meditative elements. It is an album which emanates a macabre deathly glow, as well as ambitious freshness. Its visonary construction and virtuose musicianship echo through the avant-garde black metal underground.
  • Based in Southern Poland, the five-piece have already managed to self-release a full-length debut, titled “Descent” (2014) and tour a serious roll of places in their native country, most recently including the Days of No Light Tour with Blaze of Perdition and Mord'A'Stigmata, as well as this year's Castle Party in Bolków, where they shared the altar of the post-evangelical church with Furia inter alia. Having partnered with Arachnophobia Records, they still have the best ahead of them with “Passage” being a first step. Tracked at Heaven's Sound Studio by Marcin Piekło, with the vocals recording done by Nihil at the infamous Czyściec Studio and mixing by Haldor Grunberg at Satanic Audio, the record captures a wide and rich sonic universe Moanaa has to offer. It is highly recommended for you to step on board and join the journey. It begins now.
  • On Ephemeral Substrates" is my first solo album in the true sense of the word. The project consumed almost 3 years of my life. I spent more energy on this one than on any other material of any band I have played in and I am very happy about the result. Many people asked if I had a plan to release it in a physical format. Finally, this is happening - thanks to Arachnophobia Records! Thus spoke the author, Maciej Pasinski who co-founded Sirrah - one of the most influential and uncommon Polish band of the nineties. Both "Acme" - typical in it's stylistics - as well as "Did Tomorrow Come?" - the dynamic and courageous album that was appreciated only after years - project a sense of Maciek's great creative, performative and vocal flair. "On Ephemeral Substrates" takes off where "Did Tomorrow Come?" left off. Undoubtedly, this explosive mixture of death metal and industrial is a worthy successor to Sirrah's spirit, atmosphere and bravery. The album was performed (with minor guest appearances), recorded, mixed, mastered and designed by just one man - Maciek Pasinski.

  • Pogavranjen's third full length enterprise "Jedva Čekam Da Nikad Ne Umrem" (Looking Forward To Never Die) is yet again a step towards uncharted deserts of dark, progressive and moody soundscapes. Structuring contemporary discipline of black metal into something much more refined and evolved, quite often borderline psychedelic and jazzy, Pogavranjen emerged as a banner wielder well beyond the borders of usual formulas. Keeping the avantgarde edge thru the entire trip, Jedva Čekam Da Nikad Ne Umrem deepens the obvious obsession with abrasive, almost gain-free stringworks and masterful polyrhythmic drumming solutions. Pogavranjen once again proves to be a beast of a great oddity leaving a strong flavored album swelling with myriad of bizarre faces twisting in nether.

  • 15th September marks the release date of an exceptional offering by Poland's Odraza. The brand new MCD titled 'Kir' (Polish for 'pall') features the live recording of the group's performance at Oskar Schindler's Enamel Factory – The Museum of the City of Cracow. A single instrumental piece made its way to the record. Scoring around twenty minutes, the track has been commisioned for the Museum's event 'Pamiętaj z nami' ('Remember with us'), commemorating the damages of World War II. It's probably the first ever instance of Black Metal being manifested during an event organized in by Polish public institution.
  • Nearly 40 minutes of music, 6 tracks (including a blast from the past - "Wśród Cieni i Mgieł" re-recorded), in the band's well known style, yet somewhat refreshened.
  • After critically acclaimed debut album, miniLP, demo and splits, The Dead Goats strike back with another piece! “Don’t go in the tomb” consists of three new compositions in the vein of old-school Swedish death metal – a style so characteristic for The Dead Goats.
